“Anyone who knows the Bianconeri world will tell you Pirlo is the right man,” said Marchisio.

“Anyone who knows the Bianconeri world will tell you Pirlo is the right man,” said Marchisio.
“He needs patience, the club knew that and he must not just be talked about as the new Juve coach, but as a new coach in general. He has just started, but has the ideas to leave his mark. He is leading the team to beat and among the top clubs Juve are the only ones to have made such radical changes.
“Considering there was no real pre-season due to COVID, it wasn’t possible for Pirlo to even have the usual time for training. The problems seen against Barcelona are not reassuring, but I try to keep it all in perspective: the group will improve, even more when the big names return.
“The gamble wasn’t hiring Pirlo, but choosing to make such a radical change during a difficult period.”
Paulo Dybala is struggling to find form after injury and amid his contract talks with the club.
“It’s a classic with No 10 players, you either love them or hate them. He has to become more reliable and therefore more important to the team, so to make the definitive step up he can’t keep ‘disappearing’ during the 90 minutes. I do believe Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata form a perfect trident, though.”
Inter are in their second season under Antonio Conte, but Marchisio continues to back a continuation of the Bianconeri dominance.
“With a full squad at their disposal, Juventus remain superior to Inter. They just need to get the midfield sorted out. Serie A is like a cycling race with stages, so whoever makes the fewest mistakes until the Christmas break will have an advantage in the closing stretch.”
