Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio expects a “beautiful and very difficult” Champions League final with Real Madrid.

The Bianconeri face the Spanish champions in Cardiff this Saturday, and are looking to lift the trophy for the first time since 1996.

“It will be a beautiful and very difficult final,” Marchisio told Premium Sport.

“The 2015 final has given this team the awareness that we can play to win this trophy. We were missing that before, in that final, and last year we went out to a very good team [Bayern Munich].

“We retained that awareness though, and this year you can see it.”

Marchisio was also asked about Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 36 goals in 43 games this season; including 10 in 12 Champions League matches.

“I think his style of play has changed a lot, now he’s more the central striker than [Karim] Benzema is, and in not much space he can put the defence and goalkeeper in difficulty, so we have to be very attentive to him.

“He’s a great player he, like the others, has had a great season and all the Real and Juve players can decide this beautiful final.

“We really believe, in the past two years there’s been a huge change, above all in our European mentality, there are great champions but of course as always we’ll need luck too.”
