The goalkeeper wasn’t shortlisted for football’s showcase award last month, leading Italy to not cast a vote in protest.
“Gigi deserved to be on the podium for the Ballon D’Or,” Marchisio said to French magazine So Foot.

“Pogba quickly realised that he’s a phenomenon, but let’s not forget that we’re talking about a kid.
“I hope he stays for a long time with the Bianconeri because he can still grow a lot with us.
“Dybala? I knew that he was a pure talent, but I feared he might lose his way in the opening rounds of the season given everyone’s problems.
“Instead he immediately adapted, he’s very European in the way he trains.”
