Rolando Maran describes Napoli's dramatic 2-1 win over his Chievo side as 'a joke' given how the match went.

The Flying Donkeys were on course to secure a surprise – and much needed – three points against their Scudetto-chasing opponents.

However, two late Partenopei goals turned the contest on its head and left the Verona club just two points above the relegation zone.

"It didn't go as we wanted it to," a dejected Maran commented post-match. "We played the game that we needed to play.

"Then, after playing the game we needed to and giving very little away to Napoli, what happened was a joke.

"It's a period where we are beaten with a stick despite a great performance by everyone."

Maran was unhappy that a free-kick was not awarded to his team in the build-up to Amadou Diawara's last-gasp winner.

"I want to see the winning goal again because there was a foul and at that point we were talking about a great result for Chievo.

"Napoli managed to win a match because of a corner that shouldn't have been because there was a foul."
