“Bizarrely, we found ourselves behind to an offside goal. It is to be considered a positive result I suppose, but we wanted and deserved all three points.
“Hellas were very aggressive and took spaces away, but with patience we found ways through from the flanks and with long-range shots.
“We did everything possible to break through their defence, which was locked down in front of the goal. It’s just a shame we only managed a draw.”
Chievo have 12 points from seven rounds – eight more than rivals Hellas Verona.
“Obviously we have a good position in the table, but considering the way we’ve played this season and the chances we’ve created, I have to say we deserved to be even higher.
“The new players settled in well, but I had no doubts on the old guard. Seeing them train during the week, I know they can grow and improve further.
“In recent years Chievo showed a great ability to plan ahead and became a stable club in Serie A. Hellas have a lot of history, but Chievo are building up their history too.”
