Rolando Maran believes Chievo “deserved victory” in their 0-0 draw with Milan, but they are not safe yet.

The Rossoneri hit the woodwork twice, though the Flying Donkeys had a last-gasp Fabrizio Cacciatore goal ruled offside.

“We approached the game the right way with a lot of character, we never really ran risks and had many chances to take the lead,” Maran told Sky Sport Italia.

“The performance was strong, we showed quality and sacrifice, so we deserved victory. It’s a shame for the lads, but we did really well.

“Results are decided by incidents and in some occasions we should’ve been more determined in front of goal. I am glad we play with intensity and positivity against any opponent.

“Unfortunately we are not safe from the threat of relegation yet, because there are still many head-to-head clashes to go this season.

“We’re close to the finish line, but not there yet, so we can’t get the wrong approach to the next few games.”
