“It was a surreal situation for us too, as the night before last week’s game with Hellas Verona we went to bed thinking that we’d play a very important match, then woke up not knowing what was happening or when we’d play,” said the coach in his press conference.
“Travelling there only to turn back again left us somewhat exhausted, but we pressed the reset button this week and are ready to play tomorrow with the right determination.
“We have to make sure that we raise our game and don’t have more regrets, because I see how hard the lads work in training. There are still many games to go and we’ve got to come together.”
Roma could be forced into changes after their 1-1 Europa League draw with KAA Gent on Thursday evening.
“They have a specific shape, with the wide forwards who vary their movements, while they allow very few shots on goal thanks to the strong physicality. Considering the quality in the squad, I think Roma deserve to be higher up the table.”
