It could’ve been 3-1, but Nicolò Barella missed a penalty in stoppages.

“The lads put in an incredible performance in all aspects. We had quality, creating many chances in the first half, determination and character. It was a night to remember.

“We beat a great team like Inter with a fantastic performance in a difficult time for us. We pulled out the perfect game,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Barella has improved in that trequartista role, he’s got the right positioning and distance, can link everyone together and is really doing well.

“The forwards and Barella worked really hard for the rest of the team by starting the defending from there and made it easier for their teammates.

“We knew that if we were too passive and sat back, it’d be hard to resist the Inter pressure, as they are deadly with crosses into the box. Instead, we focused more on making them defend and using our own strengths.”
