Nicolò Barella discussed the Cagliari victory over Inter, battle with Radja Nainggolan and what happened on that missed penalty.

“We put in a great performance, we knew we had to play with this spirit, we’d been improving and this was another step forward,” the midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are a good group, we’re hungry and are on the right track to get the results we deserve. It’s an important victory, also for our confidence, but we mustn’t rest on our laurels. We’ve got to keep going like this.”

It was an impressive midfield battle with Nainggolan, who shares the same agent as Barella.

“Radja is a friend, we are similar players who like to play physically, but we both know that it’s all fair on the field and we’re friends off it.”

It would’ve been a 3-1 victory to Cagliari, but Barella blasted a stoppage-time penalty over the bar.

“I want to forget the penalty, as we won and that’s the important thing. I was going to take it one way, I saw the goalkeeper move and tried to change direction, but I was off balance by then and it went over.”
