Napoli legend Diego Maradona assures he’s “more alive than ever” after his health scare on Tuesday.

El Diego was in the stands for Argentina’s win over Nigeria, and was pictured making rude gestures after the 2-1 win, as well as exuberantly celebrating goals.

After the match he had to be treated by a doctor for a sudden drop in blood pressure, but was not hospitalised as was reported by some at the time.

“I want to let the whole world know that I’m more alive than ever,” Maradona told Telesur.

“Unfortunately I can’t make mediocre people good. There has been talk of stretchers, ambulances on the internet which triggered a cycle of meaningless lies.

“I understand the envy, but don’t tell lies.”
