Kosttas Manolas is reportedly “very close” to a new contract with Roma, but it will have a release clause of only €30m.

According to Corriere dello Sport, “the road is outlined” for Kostas’ renewal after several rounds of talks between the defender and Roma.

The Greek is currently contracted to the Giallorossi until 2019 but would commit for two or three more years and earn an improved €2.5m a season plus bonuses.

However, the newspaper adds the 26-year-old could leave for just €30m if a foreign club come in.

Manolas stayed at Roma after he rejected an offer from Zenit St Petersburg, which would have seen the club receive €40m and him pocket a €4m salary.
