Inter Coach Roberto Mancini can’t see Ezequiel Lavezzi leaving Paris Saint-Germain, and hopes Fredy Guarin stays.

It was reported yesterday that Lavezzi’s agent was in Milan to meet with the Nerazzurri, but the tactician believes he’ll remain in Ligue 1 until the end of the season.

“Why would he leave PSG, where he’s winning the League and playing in the Champions League?” Mancini asked in his Press conference ahead of the Atalanta game.

“He’ll be a free agent in June, and there could be a chance, but at the moment I think it’s difficult.”

Both Stevan Jovetic and Fredy Guarin have been linked with a move away from San Siro this week, but Mancini wants both to stay.

“I don’t know anything about these things. Things have been written, but right now everyone is staying. January is a bit of an annoying month.

“Jovetic? Inter are a team with an important history, not inferior to [Manchester] City where he came from. Inter are among the top teams in the world, and those who are here have to give their best.

“We believe in Jovetic’s quality, I think he can do more and be decisive in the second half of the season. He and Mauro [Icardi] are our main strikers.

“Could Roberto Soriano replace Guarin? We hope Guarin stays, when he’s fit he’s very important. Soriano is good, different from Guarin and he’s improved a lot.

“Would I move to China? It would depend on where I played, my objectives… I don’t know.”

Geoffrey Kondogbia arrived from Monaco in the summer for a €40m fee, but has so far failed to shine in the Beneamata midfield.

“He will become a great midfielder,” Mancini insisted.

“He’s young, and he needs time, but he’ll get there. He’s alternated between good things and less good things, but he has to get used to our football.

“In Italy guys like [Marco] Van Basten and [Michel] Platini barely touched the ball in their first months. We have to have patience with Geoffrey.”
