The FIGC’s commissioner Roberto Fabbricini confirms Roberto Mancini wants the Italy job and “we’ll talk about figures and details on May 13”.

It was widely reported this morning that the Zenit St Petersburg Coach had met with the Federation to discuss the CT role, and that has now been confirmed.

“Yesterday there was a meeting between the sub-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta, Azzurri team manager [Lele] Oriali and Roberto Mancini, who gave his availability to resolve his relationship with Zenit and to be Coach of the national team,” Fabbricini told ANSA.

“We agreed that we’ll start to talk about figures and details on May 13, at the end of the Russian season.

“I want to say that there is nothing decisive. With Mancini we will clarify that the FIGC has a budget for the role which it does not intend to deviate from, and we’ll also need to talk with him about the chain of Azzurri coaches which we would like to make sure are agreed with the future CT.”
