Roy Hodgson resigned after crashing out of the Euro 2016 Round of 16 to Iceland, though his contract was due to expire anyway.

Current Under-21 international boss Gareth Southgate turned down the chance to step up to the senior post.

According to SportMediaset, one of the contenders for the role is Mancini.

He won the Premier League and FA Cup at Manchester City before being fired in 2013.
