Italy CT Roberto Mancini is reportedly unhappy he was not consulted about Marcello Lippi’s FIGC appointment and has offers from the Premier League.

Lippi is set to take on the role of technical director for Italy’s teams, with a view to becoming President of the Coaches’ Association.

However, Corriere dello Sport claims Mancini is disappointed with FIGC President Gabriele Gravina for not informing him of the proposal to bring back the 72-year-old.

Lippi is set to take on the role of technical director for Italy’s teams, with a view to becoming President of the Coaches’ Association.

However, Corriere dello Sport claims Mancini is disappointed with FIGC President Gabriele Gravina for not informing him of the proposal to bring back the 72-year-old.

Lippi’s return to the Azzurri fold threatens to undermine the former Inter boss, who until now had been freely allowed to operate as CT and consult with those in charge of the country’s youth teams. 

Mancini is also said to have received three ‘big’ offers from English clubs, although the newspaper assures he is committed to taking Italy into next year’s European Championship.

His work so far has been hugely successful, with 10 wins out of 10 in qualifying and several young players establishing themselves under his watch.
