Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure has been linked with the Nerazzurri, and according to Calciomercato, Mancini is in constant contact with his former player, who would love to work under the former striker again.

Inter director Piero Ausilio has recently said that such a move would be ‘almost impossible’, but did raise the possibility of Mancini opening up a deal, and the website believes there is growing optimism at San Siro.

It’s believed that Toure’s willingness to move could open the door to an otherwise very difficult deal.

In addition, James Milner is still thought to be a target, with his contract expiring at the end of the season and no new deal agreed.

Finally, should Mauro Icardi move away from San Siro for big money, it’s thought Mancini’s preferred replacement would be Citizens striker Edin Dzeko.
