The Azzurri CT Roberto Mancini hailed Italy’s performances at the Olympics. ‘The Euros and a historic record at the Olympic games. A beautiful summer’.

Mancini, who guided Italy to the title at EURO 2020 with a win over England in the Final, sent a message on Twitter to celebrate the medals won by the Italian athletes at Tokyo 2020.

“The Euros and a historic record at the Olympic Games,” he wrote. “Thank you, President Malagò, and a huge thank you to all the athletes of Italy.

“It’s a beautiful summer!”

Italy have secured 40 medals in total, including 10 gold and 10 silver, at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer.

That haul beats the record of 36 medals set in Los Angeles, USA in 1932 and Rome, Italy in 1960.
