Gian Piero Gasperini has suggested that Atalanta are closer to keeping defender Gianluca Mancini than selling him to Roma.

Mancini was not in the Atalanta team who beat local side Clusone 5-1 on Sunday, although the Roma target has been given extended leave due to his participation at the European Under-21 Championship with Italy,

“Mancini is still an Atalanta player,” Gasperini said after the game.

“Unless there are any late twists, he should be with us on Sunday. Then there are clearly several names we’re evaluating in terms of incomings…”

The Coach was then asked about Duvan Zapata, amidst speculation he could still leave the Dea this summer.

“The President was very clear about this. The only one who could still receive a huge offer is Zapata, but that offer doesn’t exist right now.

“We can’t bandage up our heads before breaking them!”
