“Tomorrow I expect to see my players control the game and continue along the lines of our performance against Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We have time to catch up, but it’s also true we must change gear quickly. We’re behind in the table and have to chase the others, so we’re not in a situation where we can afford mistakes.

“Torino are an excellent squad with an excellent Coach. We played badly at Empoli last week, but that was also credit to our opponents. Defending in such a compact manner was important in the circumstances.

“Some recent games might make you think negatively, but the reality is different. The point we earned at Empoli could well prove to be decisive. I do think we should start winning more on our travels, though.”

Lukas Podolski and Xherdan Shaqiri have come in during the January transfer window.

“There will be no big sales, as none of the potential starters will leave. We have three changes to make in the UEFA squad list, so we’ll choose between Shaqiri and Podolski.

“Tomorrow Shaqiri can’t play 90 minutes, so we’ll decide tomorrow. Andrea Ranocchia has recovered from that knee problem and is ready to start.”
