Zenit St Petersburg boss Roberto Mancini is reportedly the favourite to become West Ham United’s next manager.

According to the Evening Standard, Mancini is in pole position to replace Slaven Bilic if he is sacked by West Ham.

Bilic is under huge pressure after starting the season with three straight defeats and reportedly held crisis talks with the club’s board last Monday.

The Italian, for his part, is thought to be keen on a return to the Premier League, which he won with Manchester City in 2012.

However, he was only appointed Zenit Coach three months ago and has led them to the top of the Russian Premier League in his first eight games.

The newspaper adds he Hammers are also looking at former Inter and Napoli Coach Rafa Benitez.

The Newcastle United manager is reportedly unhappy about the club’s lack of transfer activity and can be snapped up by West Ham for £5m.
