Adrien Rabiot will be a free agent at the end of the season when his Juventus contract expires and L’Equipe report Manchester United are pushing hard to sign him.

The midfielder has always left the door open for his next step, as he could still negotiate a new deal to remain in Turin after perhaps the best season of his career.

The 28-year-old France international has so far contributed 11 goals and four assists in 43 competitive appearances for Juventus this term, finding his form in a more advanced role under coach Max Allegri.

Manchester United had already been in advanced talks with Rabiot over the summer after working out a transfer fee with Juve, but failed to agree personal terms with Rabiot’s formidable mother and agent Veronique.

It was reported they were requesting a salary of at least €10m per season.

According to L’Equipe, the Premier League club is prepared to try again, as Erik ten Hag is an admirer of the World Cup Finalist.

Juventus picked Rabiot up as a free agent when he left Paris Saint-Germain in July 2019.
