Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips has agreed to join Juventus in January and the Old Lady are now deciding whether to pull the trigger on a deal or not.

The 27-year-old Englishman is destined to leave the European champions in the winter transfer window after being entirely sidelined by Pep Guardiola this season. He chose not to leave in the summer, despite being warned of his fringe status, but now is ready for a new adventure.

Juventus directors Cristiano Giuntoli and Giovanni Manna travelled to London this week and met with representatives from Stellar Group, the agency who represent Phillips. There, the two parties discussed the idea of a six-month spell in Turin for the midfielder.

Page two of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Phillips has agreed to make the move to Juventus in January, allowing the club to start seriously working on a deal with Manchester City.

The Cityzens did not want to strengthen a Premier League rival nor a European opponent, so would be happy to send him to the Piedmont capital.

Phillips earns €5m net per season, so Juventus are now deciding whether it’s worth paying half of that fee to have the Englishman for the second half of the season.
