After two Giallorossi ultras were arrested for violently attacking a 53-year-old supporter outside Anfield, leaving him in an induced coma with brain injuries, there are serious concerns about the safety of fans in the second leg.
“I am not worried, but rather angry,” said CONI chief Malagò in a Press conference ahead of tomorrow’s summit with representatives from both cities and clubs.
“The second leg has to go well, because otherwise there’s the risk of sanctions for the club. I assume that the utmost will be done in terms of prevention.
“The people involved are extremely competent and experienced. I am told the same was not done in Liverpool, but I don’t know about that. In any case, it changes nothing.
“Roma lost a Champions League semi-final 5-2, but if they had a better result, it would’ve been sullied by this news. This is no longer possible.”
