A bout of flu has prevented Christian Maggio from joining up with Antonio Conte’s squad for Italy’s friendly with Albania tomorrow night.

An additional 14 players were called into the Azzurri fold for the match, which was moved to Genoa from Parma in support of victims of local flooding.

Maggio has been unable to join up with the squad as he is suffering from flu, but Sampdoria’s Stefano Okaka and Luca Rossettini of Cagliari could be handed a first cap.

The pair were included in a squad which will train at the Vismara sports centre in Milan this morning ahead of the match.

Players who featured in last night’s game with Croatia will not train this morning, but Alessio Cerci, Sebastian Giovinco and Daniele Rugani joined the new call-ups after remaining on the bench for the Euro 2016 qualifier.

Leonardo Bonucci will also be put through his paces after serving a suspension in last night’s 1-1 draw.
