Real Madrid are reportedly ready to negotiate a potential transfer for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

According to AS, Madrid have made enquiries for Fabian as they consider him to be a player with a ‘huge’ future.

It follows a claim by El Chiringuito that Los Blancos have revived a long-standing interest in the 23-year-old.

However, the newspaper warns the Partenopei have ‘absolutely’ no intention of cashing in, while a deal is made all the more difficult by the absence of a release clause.

Although Copa America seems to be behind the hold-up in the deal taking James Rodriguez to the San Paolo, it remains to be seen how much the two moves are linked.

Fabian joined Napoli from Real Betis last summer for €30m and helped them to a runners-up finish in his 40 appearances during 2018-19, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.

He has also broken into the Spain squad, picking up his first two caps against Faroe Islands and Sweden earlier this month.
