Manchester United's Federico Macheda is hoping to play Premiership football next season after he tasted relegation at Sampdoria.
"I really wanted to have an experience in Italy, but I now hope to stay in the Premier League," he told Sky Sport Italia. "For a youngster, England is a better place to play.
"I arrived at Genoa with great enthusiasm. I did very well in my first few games, as did the rest of the team, but we never had any consistency after the defeat to Napoli.

"It wasn't easy from a psychological point of view to leave United and join a Sampdoria side who were fighting relegation. It was a delicate situation."
The Lazio youth product joined Sampdoria on loan in January in a bid to play regular football, but he was hampered by their struggles.
Doria, who sold Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini at the start of 2011, slid down the table and were eventually relegated to Serie B.
Macheda made 14 appearances in Serie A, for a total of 468 minutes, but failed to find the back of the net in the League.
