Gaetano D'Agostino has expressed his disappointment at Fiorentina's failure to keep him at the Stadio Franchi.
The midfielder's future was decided by a blind auction on Saturday when Udinese outbid the Viola for their 50 per cent share in the player.
"I'm saddened by how things went," he told Firenzeviola. "I was really hoping that Fiorentina would keep me.
"You all know how much I wanted to live in Florence, how much I wanted to end my playing career with the club.

"I'm disappointed for all the Viola fans too who showed me great affection. I don't feel sorry for sporting director Pantaleo Corvino or the club though…"
D'Agostino, who joined the Viola last summer, is now back in Udine but he doesn't know whether he'll stay.
"I've not spoken to anyone and I don't even want to think about it right now," he continued. "When I get back from holiday I'll talk to Udinese."
The playmaker, an Italian international, was wanted by Juventus, Real Madrid and Liverpool in the summer of 2009.
