The shot-stopper had surgery to stabilise his right shoulder today and will be released from hospital tomorrow.
The club released a statement confirming Lupatelli will have to wear a special cast for three weeks.
Medics expect him to be ready for playing duty again in around three months.
Lupatelli is Fiorentina’s third choice goalkeeper behind Norberto Neto and Ciprian Tatarusanu.
