Romelu Lukaku scored a late equaliser for Inter against Juventus, but his goal celebration led to two different brawls between Nerazzurri and Bianconeri: here’s what happened in the final minutes of the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal in Turin.

The Belgian forward converted a late penalty kick at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semis, but chaos erupted immediately after.

He made his usual goal celebration, by silencing opposing fans and critics. However, this time he was under Juventus’ Curva Sud and some Bianconeri ultras reacted by throwing objects inside the pitch.

Lukaku had probably heard Juventus fans make monkey noise from Curva Sud after collecting a first yellow card a few minutes earlier.

Some Juventus players may have found Lukaku’s celebration disrespectful so they tried to confront the 29-year-old who his teammates shielded. Juan Cuadrado, who had put Juventus ahead just a few minutes earlier, seemed one of the most annoyed.

Juventus and Inter players started clashing, but it seemed all over when Lukaku, who had been shown a yellow card minutes after his introduction from the bench in the second half, was booked again and was therefore sent off.

However, it was not the end of the story. Tension continued after the final whistle with players facing each other in the middle of the pitch. Cuadrado and Samir Handanovic also saw red, while their teammates probably continued fighting inside the dressing room as many were seen running inside the tunnel, chasing each other.
