Manchester United legend Gary Pallister has accused Romelu Lukaku of ‘disrespecting’ the Red Devils with his comments that he would join Juventus.

Lukaku praised Juve for being one of the ‘2-3 best teams’ in Europe and revealed he would like to play in Serie A, prompting concern from Pallister – who made over 300 appearances for United between 1989 and 1998, winning four top-flight titles.

Lukaku praised Juve for being one of the ‘2-3 best teams’ in Europe and revealed he would like to play in Serie A, prompting concern from Pallister – who made over 300 appearances for United between 1989 and 1998, winning four top-flight titles.

“I’ve not heard that Lukaku story regarding Juventus but I think it’s disrespectful at times if you start mentioning other clubs when you're actually contracted to the club you’re at,” the ex-England defender told 888sport.

“If it’s in your mind I’ve got no problem with that but to put it in print I’ve got a problem with that. 

“At a time when a club is under real pressure to have their leading goalscorer say he’d like to move abroad – if that’s what he has done – is not the ideal scenario.”

The two clubs face off in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
