After months of uncertainty, Luis Alberto has reportedly put pen to paper on a new long-term contract with Lazio.

The 30-year-old Spaniard is no stranger to controversy in the Italian capital and this summer proved no different. Maurizio Sarri made it clear that he wanted the midfielder to be offered a new contract but negotiations with Claudio Lotito did not prove simple.

After agreeing to terms with Lazio earlier in the summer, Luis Alberto still hadn’t put pen to paper at the start of this month and missed out on multiple training sessions plus their pre-season friendly against Aston Villa. It later emerged that the feud was over the inclusion of a €100,000 bonus.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Luis Alberto has now put pen to paper on a new five-year contract with Lazio, worth around €4m net per season plus add-ons.

Earlier this summer, the 30-year-old was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but rebuffed multiple approaches in order to move forward in the Italian capital.
