Diego Lopez has arrived in Italy, and will meet Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini tonight.

Following Eugenio Corini’s resignation yesterday, the former Cagliari Coach emerged as a candidate to replace him on the Rosanero bench.

Zamparini confirmed yesterday that that he would meet with Lopez, though stressed “we haven’t chosen anyone yet”.

Now Tuttomercatoweb reports that the Uruguayan has arrived in Milan, ahead of his meeting with the Sicilian club tonight.

If appointed, the 42-year-old would become Palermo’s fourth Coach of the season, following Davide Ballardini, Roberto De Zerbi and Corini.
