Maxi Lopez is honoured by the transfer links with Milan, but he maintains that he’s just focused on present club Catania right now.

The Argentine has been paired with a January switch to San Siro, with director general Pietro Lo Monaco and President Antonino Pulvirenti suggesting that they are ready to sell.

The Rossoneri are looking for a new forward as cover for Antonio Cassano as he recovers from minor heart surgery.

“I can only say thank you to the fact that a side with a history like Milan, with all those champions, have thought about me,” the South American noted.

“I’m just looking to remain calm and relaxed right now though.

“Then if in the future there is the possibility of joining one of the most important sides in Europe then that would be great.

“However, for now, I’m not thinking about it. We’ll have to wait and see what happens in January.”

The 27-year-old, signed by Catania in January 2010 after a spell at Gremio, was also linked with a move to Juventus at the start of this year.

“It’s nice when a big team comes knocking,” he added. “However, I repeat, for now I just have to concentrate on doing my job here at Catania.”

It’s understood that Milan will attempt to get a new forward in on a loan deal rather than having to sign someone outright.

Cassano is expected to be out of action for around six months.
