Francesco Lodi’s agent held talks with Catania on Thursday in a bid to secure his client a new improved contract.

The No 10 is widely considered as the club’s most valuable asset and Alessandro Moggi is eager for the player to be rewarded for his efforts.

Lodi, signed by Catania in January 2011, is currently tied to the outfit until June 2015. It is thought he earns just €400,000 a campaign.

Moggi is asking for a concrete pay increase, while the Sicilians are hoping to just add some performance related bonuses to his present agreement.

Today’s meeting failed to see a compromise reached and negotiations will continue for a man who has scored 13 goals in 55 League appearances for the club.

Lodi is one of Serie A’s most dangerous free-kick takers.
