Napoli have been working to tie down Stanislav Lobotka to a new contract and the parties have reportedly reached an agreement in principle.

The Slovakian midfielder joined the Partenopei in January 2020 from Celta Vigo in a deal worth around €20m and he’s grown into a key player under Luciano Spalletti, starting in all but two of their games this season across Serie A and the Champions League. Lobotka has proven himself irreplaceable in the Napoli squad and the club have no interest in losing him.

As detailed by TuttoMercatoWeb, Lobotka has verbally agreed to a new six-year contract with Napoli that’ll see his salary rise from around €2.5m net per season to €3m plus €500,000 in add-ons.

A few final details still remaining but both parties are confident that everything will be agreed in the coming weeks, confirming their future together.

In recent months clubs from Liverpool to Manchester United have requested information about the 27-year-old but it’s been made clear that he’s not on the way out in Campania and this new deal will confirm that.
