Liverpool are ready to offer €21m to buy Emerson Palmieri from Roma and leave him on loan in Italy for a year.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Reds approached Roma – who had already done a deal with them for Mohamed Salah – to discuss this possibility.

The proposal would be around €21m, but Sky Sport Italia note it would also mean leaving him on loan with the Giallorossi.

He ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in May and won’t be back on the field until at least the end of October.

Emerson is a left-back who just turned 23 and can play in a more advanced attacking role.

He was born in Brazil, but with Italian heritage and opted to play his international football for Italy.

Last season, Emerson contributed one goal and one assist in 36 competitive games for Roma.
