Liverpool reportedly joined the fray to sign Antonio Rudiger, as Roma look to secure him from Stuttgart.

The central defender is currently on loan in Serie A from the German club, but the Giallorossi have an agreed buy-in clause of €9m.

While it seems almost certain that the Lupi will buy the player for that amount, it's unclear yet whether they'll do so with a view towards keeping Rudiger for the next season, or cashing in on him for a higher price.

In the meantime, Calciomercatoweb.com reports of an interest by Liverpool, who are willing to face up to Chelsea in order to take the German international to the Premier League.

They are believed to be ready to offer up to €19m for the player.
