Pressure mounts on Parma coach Fabio Liverani, who hopes to see a ‘compact’ Ducali against Atalanta on Wednesday. ‘We must sacrifice’.

The board decided to give Liverani another chance after the 3-0 defeat to Torino on Sunday but reports in Italy claims his future is uncertain even with a win against the Orobici.

Liverani, however, knows he ‘lives on results’ and intends to continue to work as if he’s at the Ennio Tardini ‘for life’.

“I’m a young coach, but I have always played football and I know the dynamics,” Liverani said at a press conference.

“I come here to the pitch at 8am and leave in the afternoon, all my time I dedicate to try to do everything I can.

“I owe it to me and my professionalism. I live on results, but I live with serenity. Then there are those who have to make the decisions.

“As long as I’m the coach of Parma, I will do it as if I had to be here for life.”

Liverani expects a healthy Atalanta on Wednesday and hopes to see the Crociati ‘sacrifice’ to get a result in Bergamo.

“We meet a team in great condition, it’s superfluous to dwell on the strength and continuity of Atalanta,” he added.

“We have tried to give all the possible information on the opponents, even in terms of characteristics.

“It’s a game of sacrifice, where compactness can help us suffer less. If we give them space, it will be impossible to bring home a result.

“With compactness and sacrifice in our game, I think we can play for it."
