Milan decided they would set an example post-lockdown by inviting health care workers to sit in the stands and watch the first game since the COVID crisis erupted in March.

The Rossoneri have technically already begun their season, having beaten Shamrock Rovers 2-0 in the Europa League preliminary round on Thursday.

Bologna’s pre-season was affected by COVID too, as coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was infected and had to spend several weeks in quarantine.
