Marcello Lippi has once again repeated that his desire is to Coach at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, not to return to club management.

The former Cesena, Napoli and Juventus Coach confirmed on Wednesday that he is looking to return to the game, but only at international level.

Lippi took Italy to both the 2006 and 2010 World Cups and would like to make it three in a row, if not with the Azzurri.

“I’m not going to Coach a club team,” he told ANSA. “If a good national team were to come up, in any part of the world, then I could go.

“Ideally, I would work for a couple of years to then do well at the World Cup in Brazil.”

The 63-year-old even hinted that future World Cups could tempt him to stay in the job.

“Recently I made a trip to Qatar and I saw such beautiful structures and enthusiasm, in the wake of being awarded the 2022 World Cup.

“It could prove to be an interesting experience.”
