Former Juventus boss Marcello Lippi says it’s absurd to think that the Bianconeri are in a crisis. “They’ve only lost one game…”

Juve fell to their first defeat of the season at the weekend, going down 3-1 to Lazio, but Lippi made it clear Maurizio Sarri needed more time to implement his style on the team.

“They have only lost one game, on Saturday,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Before that they had never lost. Maurizio Sarri needs time. He doesn’t have a magic wand.”

Asked if Inter played better football under Old Lady old boy Antonio Conte, his mentor insisted it was too early to say, while mentioning Lazio as Scudetto contenders.

“It is too soon. We need to wait until May. Conte is doing a great job but I didn’t think there would be any doubts. And I don’t think they are the only team to play for the Scudetto.

“I believe Lazio can put themselves in the title equation. They are a team who play great football and are a modern side with good players, especially in midfield. I like them a lot.”

The 71-year-old also commented on the Napoli situation, Milan’s pursuit of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Italy’s progress with Roberto Mancini.

“Ancelotti has had an extraordinary career, he is a coachwho’s won a lot.

“There are high and lows in life, and for now things are not going well in the League, but Napoli have time to readjust the situation.

“Milan are doing well by trying to buy Ibrahimovic as they are lacking a player with his charisma. He is a player who can give them a hand.”

“Everything is positive and beautiful. Roberto is doing very well; he has sent important messages to the clubs, asking them to let young players play and the clubs have listened to him.

“It bodes well for the future.”

The Azzurri won the World Cup in 2006 with Lippi as CT.
