Milan hope to make a decisive step back into the race for Europe, but will their post-derby glow be wiped out in Palermo?

It kicks off at 19.45 GMT, follow the action from all NINE Serie A games on our LIVEBLOG.

Sinisa Mihajlovic had a right to feel bullish after the 3-0 humiliation of city rivals Inter in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday night.

They had lost just one of the last 13 competitive fixtures, winning eight, and were on a run of four wins in the last five.

When these sides met back in September it was a 3-2 thriller at San Siro decided by Carlos Bacca’s brace and a Jack Bonaventura free kick.

The Palermo Coach at the time was Giuseppe Iachini, but he has since been replaced by Davide Ballardini, who was also sacked.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto doesn’t have the official paperwork to be a Serie A Coach yet, so he is on a separate bench on the touchline while Giovanni Tedesco formally takes the reins.

The change to a 4-3-3 system seems to have worked well, as the Rosanero crushed Udinese 4-1 and held on-form Carpi to a 1-1 draw.

Alberto Gilardino faces his former club flanked by Robin Quaison and Franco Vazquez.

Bacca leads the way with M’Baye Niang for Milan, but Luiz Adriano, Philippe Mexes and Diego Lopez are out.

Mario Balotelli is on the bench and hopes to make an impact later on in the town of his birth.

Milan have won five of their last seven meetings with Palermo, home and away, losing only once at San Siro in November 2014.

Their last Serie A defeat in Sicily was 1-0 in March 2011, followed by two wins and a 2-2 draw.
