Milan change yet again for today’s 17.00 GMT kick-off with Chievo, as Giampaolo Pazzini and Bojan Krkic step into a 4-2-3-1 system.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri was under fire for his tinkering after Tuesday’s 2-2 draw in Palermo, so has shelved the three-man defence.

Pazzini and Bojan join Stephan El Shaarawy and Urby Emanuelson in a new 4-2-3-1 set-up that sees Massimo Ambrosini return to the starting XI.

The defence is also reshuffled, as Daniele Bonera is suspended with Luca Antonini out for at least two weeks, so Cristian Zapata returns and Kevin Constant is a make-shift left-back.

Christian Abbiati is in goal for the first time since suffering from a respiratory infection a couple of weeks ago.

Chievo are without Bostjan Cesar, Alberto Paloschi and Lorenzo Squizzi, but Sergio Pellissier is now fully fit and raring to go alongside Cyril Thereau. Paul Papp gets his first start in a five-man defence.

The Flying Donkeys have improved since Coach Eugenio Corini took over and hope to cause an upset at San Siro, but the statistics do not make for kind reading.

Chievo have lost their last 10 consecutive meetings with Milan.

Curiously, these two clubs also faced off in the Primavera youth league this afternoon and Chievo’s teens emerged 5-1 winners away from home.

Milan: Abbiati; Abate, Mexes, Zapata, Constant; Montolivo, Ambrosini; Emanuelson, Bojan, El Shaarawy; Pazzini
Chievo: Sorrentino; Frey, Andreolli, Dainelli, Papp, Dramé; Luciano, Guana, Hetemaj; Thereau, Pellissier
