However, the Leicester Mercury is today reporting that the 31-year-old is not on Leicester’s shortlist, as they are well-stocked in central midfield.

Ranieri’s side are unlikely title contenders in the English Premier League, currently sitting just two points behind leaders Arsenal.
De Jong has made just five Serie A appearances for Sinisa Mihajlovic's side this season, and was sent-off in the draw with Verona.
