The Telegraph reports that Leicester City asked about taking Christian Eriksen on loan from Inter, but were put off by his wages.

According to the English newspaper, former Premier League winners Leicester did make an approach to discuss a possible deal.

However, as soon as they discovered his salary comes to approximately £300,000 per week, with Inter unwilling to cover much of it, Leicester stepped away.

The Danish midfielder has been linked with a return to the Premier League and even possibly back to Tottenham Hotspur, who he left a year ago for just over €20m.

Inter would prefer to sell, but have found no club willing to pay the asking price.
