Despite turning 34 next month, Burak remains one of Turkish football’s most prolific goalscorers.

He netted 16 times in just 22 games for Besiktas in his half-season with the club, while he has the unique distinction of playing for Turkey’s traditional ‘big three’.

The former Lazio target is also impressive at international level, with 24 goals in 56 caps for his country.

It is shaping up to be a busy summer for the Salentini, who have signalled their intention to mark their return to the top flight with 7-8 additions.
