Andrea Lazzari believes Fiorentina have been playing well despite recent results and sees next weekend’s clash with Juventus as an opportunity to prove so.

The Viola have managed just one win from their last six played, which coupled with other results, has seen them drop four places in the table to 15th and the 11-point advantage over the relegation zone cut to seven.

However, midfielder Lazzari believes that the team are progressing, but that their struggles to find the back of the net are affecting things.

However, midfielder Lazzari believes that the team are progressing, but that their struggles to find the back of the net are affecting things.

“The play is there,” the 27-year-old insisted on Monday.

“At Catania we have had some great chances but unfortunately we could not turn them into goals.

“Hopefully against Juventus we will be able to create as much again, but the result will be different.”

The former Cagliari midfielder also took time to comment on Juve’s decision to implement a media blackout this week, after their 0-0 draw with Genoa at the weekend.

“Let’s say that it is part of the game – we have seen that Parma have also had some doubtful penalty appeals after a week of complaining.

“We must not think of this, we need to only look at the game, we know that Juventus are a team that puts so much intensity into each game, we must be careful about this.”
