Lazio spokesperson Arturo Diaconale has been admitted to hospital but is not understood to be suffering from coronavirus.
Corriere dello Sport reports Diaconale is instead undergoing a surgical procedure, although his condition is described as ‘unknown’ at this stage.
The 74-year-old has been Lazio’s spokesperson since 2016.
He has been a vocal supporter of Serie A resuming, with the Aquile second in the table and just a point behind Juventus after 26 games.
