There’s confusion over Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as his agent has a “promise” to Lazio and Genk accept Fiorentina’s offer.

The attacking midfielder is heading towards Serie A, but the club remains to be seen.

“Fiorentina made an offer that satisfies us, while Lazio’s proposal is different. They are two offers constructed in very different ways,” Genk director of sport Dimitri de Conde told Calciomercato.com.

“We are prepared to sell, but a deal is never concluded until the player accepts the destination. Therefore we will see. As far as we are concerned, we’re ready to go forward.

“Any day could be the right one for Sergej’s decision. We are waiting and hope he decides as soon as possible.”

While Fiorentina’s offer seems to suit Genk more, Milinkovic-Savic is leaning towards the Stadio Olimpico.

“Lazio have the priority as long as they are in the running for Milinkovic-Savic,” intermediary Mateja Kezman told Tuttomercatoweb.

“I gave my word to (Lazio director Igli) Tare. At the moment Lazio have made a formal offer to both club and player, while Fiorentina have only shown interest.

“We need to wait a little longer and then it will be more clear. Naturally we’ve been talking to Lazio for a while and are aware this is a big club that will probably be in the Champions League.

“An agreement is close with them, but naturally the player respects Fiorentina and wants to calmly choose his next destination. After all, this is a decision that will affect the rest of his life and career.”
