Stefano Pioli admits his Lazio side “want to improve” their away form, starting with Atalanta tomorrow.

The Biancocelesti have lost all but one of their four Serie A away games, conceding 12 goals in the process while conceding just one.

“Of course we want to improve,” Pioli admitted in his Press conference ahead of the trip to Bergamo.

“The last away performance [at Sassuolo] has nothing to do with the other away performances. We wanted to try and impose our style, and we controlled the game. So we can win tomorrow night.

“It’s not easy to explain these numbers, without detracting from our home fans, whose importance I always stress. We always go onto the pitch with 11 v 11.

“We know that we go out to attack away from home, and in previous trips that attitude was lacking. Maybe we lacked calmness.

“Now we’re more aware of our quality, and we can have our say.

“We can improve a lot, but we’re doing well. We could be more compact across the 90 minutes, only by maintaining certain distances can we play the football we want to.

“We never stop growing, in every game we learn and make progress. We have the right mixture, our experienced players provide a fantastic example, to young players who want to grow.

“These improvements will rise in line with results, because they bring confidence.”
